Boating industry’s Discover Boating campaign opens casting call for season two of boater documentary series
Discover Boating, the consumer awareness campaign run by National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), is looking for the next stars to feature in their new documentary series.
The Stories of Discovery documentary series, launched in early summer of 2014 , highlights inspirational stories of real boaters with the goal of getting more people on the water.
Season 1 highlighted country music star Jake Owen, the Alder family featuring three generations of boaters and the Vazquez family – a Hispanic family that enjoys boating and fishing.
The videos, and other special insights from behind the scenes of these boaters’ lives in each story, are being featured throughout the campaign across advertising, social media and PR, helping introduce more people to the benefits of boating. To date, the Stories of Discovery videos have been viewed more than six million times.
For season 2 of the Stories of Discovery Series, Discover Boating is reaching out to the boating community and industry to recruit new boater stories to share:
Do you know a boater with a fascinating, inspiring, or unique story? If you have a customer, friend, or family member who turns to boating to connect with family, escape stress, or who is simply passionate about being on the water with an interesting story behind their love of the water, we’d love to know about it!
Please submit all ideas at this link or contact Ellen Hopkins at ehopkins@nmma.org
Marine businesses can easily share videos for the Stories of Discovery Series by using the video embed code and posting to websites, blogs and/or social media.
