BoatUS Foundation releases a how-to-guide for establishing and promoting marine businesses as life jacket loaner sites
The BoatUS Foundation, a national leader promoting safe, clean and responsible boating, aims to make it easier for marinas and other marine businesses to run an effective life jacket loaner program for their local boating community.
Life Jacket Loaner Programs provide life jackets for recreational boaters to use free for a day or weekend. The goal of loaner programs is to increase the use of life jackets and to educate the public on the importance of wearing a properly fitting life jacket.
BoatUS Foundation has been offering a Life Jacket Loaner Program for over 20 years and has over 550 loaner sites in all 50 states and DC.
The demand for new loaner sites increases every year so to help establish more loaner sites and educate the public on life jackets, the BoatUS Foundation is offering new resources to help others setup and manage life jacket loaner programs.
The Foundation’s newly released “How To Set Up a Life Jacket Loaner Program Guide” provides step-by-step instructions and includes information on how to access free and discounted resources for your loaner program including promotional and educational materials and life jackets.
In addition to new resources for setting up a loaner site, BoatUS Foundation has created new access to free and discounted resources for your loaner program including promotional and educational materials and life jackets.

Get Supplies For Your Site
The biggest challenge that loaner sites face is getting the word out about the program and about the importance of life jackets.
BoatUS has made it easy to get all the supplies you need. You can either purchase signs, flyer, decals and rack cards with your logo on them or you can download high quality print files for free to print yourself. They even have sample press releases and sample liability release forms.
“We have everything you need to make a new or current loaner program a success and be a great asset to your local community,” said BoatUS Foundation Outreach Manager Alanna Keating. “We have a new how-to guide with tips, discounted life jackets and all the materials and resources needed to start, expand and promote your program and help keep kids and adults safe on the water.”
