My-Villages unveils new brand name – MyTaskit – uniting its two leading solutions to help marine businesses increase customer loyalty, improve efficiency & gain competitive advantage

My-Villages, provider of the easiest to use and most complete task sharing and coordination platform for consumers and businesses, has unveiled MyTaskit Pro, a new brand, name and solution for leisure boat businesses to increase customer loyalty, streamline operations, gain competitive advantage and boost sales revenue.

Boating service pros use MyTaskit Pro to access and share tasks with customers online, communicate with owners and captains, coordinate service, respond to inquiries, secure approvals, offer updates, generate reminders to customers when service is due, and even streamline back-office and service delivery operations. This leads to significantly increased efficiency, customer satisfaction and profitability.

In conjunction with the MyTaskit Pro announcement, the company has also announced MyTaskit, a new brand, name and solution for boat owners and their captains. MyTaskit, formerly known as The Boat Village, has new features and an intuitive interface that make it easier than ever for boat owners and captains to order maintenance and repair service online, simply by assigning tasks to their boat yards electronically.

Company Brand History

MyTaskit started out as a solution for the boating industry, bridging the coordination and information gap between boat owners, service professionals, boat builders and equipment manufacturers. The company’s first product, The Boat Village, was designed to transform the way consumers and businesses communicate and transact business. Launched in October 2012, The Boat Village was conceived as an all-in-one front-office platform for communication, task management and service coordination.

In October 2013, the company acquired DockMaster, the top back-office solution for marine retailers, marinas and service centers. The integration of the two products created the most comprehensive end-to-end software solution for service providers – creating an easy-to-use, affordable solution that can drive operational efficiencies, increase customer loyalty, and vastly enhance customer service. In March 2015, the company officially rebranded the combined solution – The Boat Village plus DockMaster – into MyTaskit Pro.

The new name was inspired by conversations the management team had with pro users across the country about how they interact with their customers, said CEO Kevin Hutchinson.

“When customers have a service issue, they can simply ‘Taskit’ to their service pros. Service managers can also ‘Taskit’ to field technicians or even subcontractors for complete coordination of service.”

My-Villages has been working toward the goal of combining the front-end capabilities of The Boat Village with the back-end solutions of DockMaster since the acquisition of DockMaster in 2013. The new brand name was publicly unveiled during the 2015 Palm Beach International Boat Show.

MyTaskit has since announced that eleven new marine industry businesses have signed up for MyTaskit Pro. The new customers, specializing in boat and yacht repairs, marina services, and boat sales across the United States and Canada, will be using the solution for online task coordination with their customers, as well as to automate and optimize operational tasks. In addition, five current MyTaskit Pro users are converting to the MyTaskit Pro Cloud solution.
